Gstaad’s winter events calendar is hard to beat. For music lovers, there is the New Year Music Festival and Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, where emerging artists and international virtuosos play a nine-day programme of classical concerts.
Details
January sees the International Hot Air Balloon Festival at Château-d’Oex, where you can watch dozens of hot-air balloons fly over the snow-capped mountains and view a spectacular event. Of course, winter festivities are not complete without a Christmas market, and Saanen’s will be sure to delight.

Gruyère’s Castle & Maison Cailler
